Five year strategy to develop an infrastructure for digital transformation£60m
Transformation designed to facilitate the charitable giving of over £60 million per year1
One controlled vocabulary created for infrastructure of entire organisation.A strategic plan to provide digital transformation to giving services and operations.
THE BRIEF
Stewardship is a member of the Charity 100 Index, with over 100,000 user accounts facilitating over £60 million worth of charitable giving every year. This FinTech activity is supported by further financial services and an events and content creation arm.
With a mandate for digital transformation, the task was to develop a digital strategy that would lay the foundations, allowing them to build upon their rich heritage and develop pioneering new services and operations that could empower charitable giving and fundraising around the world.
The Outcome
Through UX research and business analysis, we gathered key organisational and user insights and, once paired with industry trends and predicted technological advances, authored the charity's first organisation-wide digital strategy paper. The strategy outlined key aims and objectives accompanied by strategic recommendations, a new architecture for their underlying technical infrastructure, future systems overview, and an implementation plan.
The completed strategy paper was presented to the Senior Management Team and Board through face to face presentations and subsequently championed by all senior stakeholders leading to its implementation.
Our research and information architecture brought understanding to the complex systems of users, transactions and content, with the additional provision of concept development for products and services utilising technological advances that would be made available to the public over the next three to five years.
Following our recommendations for digital transformation, the strategy impacted top level business plans and led to changes in overall brand strategy and organisation structure. We were also commissioned to streamline the language for the organisation's entire infrastructure and operations; creating an ecosystemic approach to taxonomy models that crafted complementary taxonomies powered by a single controlled vocabulary. Our approach transformed content creation, cross-platform migration and added value to users, optimising user engagement overall.
