BRIEF
Stewardship approached Kore to create a five-year digital transformation strategy that would modernise their operations, improve user engagement, and support £60 million in annual donations.
Kore was tasked with developing a comprehensive five-year digital transformation strategy for Stewardship, beginning with a thorough analysis of their operations through research, stakeholder interviews, and industry analysis. This research allowed us to identify key areas for innovation, setting the stage for a strategy that would modernise their technical infrastructure, enhance their charitable services, and improve user engagement across their 100,000+ accounts.
The resulting digital strategy laid out a detailed roadmap that provided clear, actionable steps for integrating future technologies while ensuring the organisation remained adaptable to emerging trends. It addressed the entire ecosystem, from user transactions to internal operations, and included plans for new digital services and platform optimisation, positioning Stewardship as a forward-thinking leader in the charitable sector.
In parallel, we developed a transformative ecosystemic taxonomy model—a "taxonomy of taxonomies"—that became a cornerstone of this digital transformation. The taxonomy unified six distinct language environments—spanning data, public platforms, services, and internal systems—into a single, controlled vocabulary. This allowed for seamless communication between departments and platforms, transforming how data flowed across the organisation. By anchoring their transformation in this taxonomy, Stewardship ensured that their systems would remain scalable, adaptable, and aligned with the roadmap’s vision for future growth.
The combined power of the digital strategy and taxonomy model allowed Stewardship to not only streamline operations but also build a more connected, efficient, and user-focused ecosystem. The strategy provided a clear path for technological and service innovation, while the taxonomy ensured that future content and platforms would be consistent, interoperable, and easy to navigate.
This dual approach didn’t just solve operational issues; it transformed the way Stewardship operates, empowering the organisation to scale its impact and better serve its community in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
IMPACT
Kore empowered the charity with a five-year digital strategy designed to transform operations and support the charitable giving of over £60 million annually.
Insights from over 100,000 user accounts were analysed to inform the strategy, positioning the organisation for sustained growth.
The innovative, canonical taxonomy model created a unified language across the organisation’s ecosystem, enhancing both internal efficiency and external user engagement.
The new language model future-proofed systems and paved the way for new services; it initiated business change for organisational structures and job titles; creating a foundation that could scale with the business in an evolving digital landscape.
